Spring Walking Holiday 2024 at Exmouth 

 

26 members joined us for our Spring Walking holiday, based for 4 nights at the Leisureplex Cavendish Hotel in Exmouth.

The first day we were spoiled with lovely sunshine as we set off from the pretty village of Sidbury and ventured up and down numerous hills and dales, albeit muddy at times due to the relentless rain that the whole country had been experiencing.

​

The following day’s forecast was not so promising, but did not dampen our spirits as we ventured along the headlands around Budleigh Salterton, between a mixture of bright sunshine and heavy showers.   

Unfortunately, on the 3rd day our luck had run out and even the hardiest of walkers decided it was time to quit as the rain was relentless. Instead, a group of us decided to get the train and visit Exeter. This proved to be a good choice as we were able to spend quite some time in the museum, which was full of interesting artefacts from all over the world, as well as the Cathedral which has the longest continuous medieval stone vault in the world.    

 

As usual with Leisureplex hotels, we were entertained in the evening to a variety of live music and dancing, which finished off the evenings just nicely for those who still had plenty of energy.
