Summer 2025 Annual BBQ

This year’s annual group BBQ marked a delightful return to a more personal and familiar setting, once again hosted at the home and garden of one of our generous members, Debbie.  While in past years we often gathered at a local public house, this more intimate venue, like previous members homes, provided a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for the occasion.

The day began with a scenic hike through the rolling South Leicestershire countryside, setting the tone with fresh air, good company, and picturesque views under warm, dry skies.

Approximately 38 members attended, contributing to a lively and sociable afternoon. The BBQ was expertly prepared by our host, with plenty of help from fellow members, resulting in a delicious and varied spread of savoury dishes and desserts. The food was thoroughly enjoyed by all, with something to satisfy every taste. At just £10 per person, the event was great value, and we're proud to say that any surplus funds were donated to LOROS, a charity close to many of our hearts.

 

With perfect weather, great food, and even better company, the day was a wonderful celebration of our shared love of walking and community spirit.
